Budding actor, James, booked a shoot to enrich his portfolio with some actor headshots and character portraits. We focused on ‘Peaky Blinders’ style retro shots, traditional actor headshots and also experimented with some fitness shots with an American football theme.
Budding actor Ross got in touch to arrange a character and costume shoot. After some discussion we settled on the idea of using the props in the studio to improvise a steam punk stage set and compliment it with a combination of way-out costume accessories. Harnessing Ross’s acting skills, some coloured gels, backlighting and stage smoke we achieved a really atmospheric set of images.
Up-and-coming model, Callum, already signed with Maverick models in Manchester, wanted more images to diversify his port, so we worked on some fashion shots, formalwear, fitness and some more casual outdoor images.
Having worked with male model Brenden previously, he suggested we did a duo shoot with his partner Emily to include fitness, casual and fashion shots for both of them. We managed to cover an amazing wide range of styles in a short space of time resulting in a great variety of shots for all our portfolios.
I arranged a shoot with up and coming model and actor Matthew for a ‘Peaky Blinders’ themed shoot complete with retro costume and a specially constructed studio set to experiment with lighting and gels. We also managed to fit a few formalwear shots into the session.
Mervyn got in contact to arrange a shoot to build his portfolio. Our studio session was very productive and we produced some dark and atmospheric character shots with low key lighting and a few of the many props available in the studio.
Amy got in contact to book a shoot for fitness and publicity images for her personal fitness blog. We choose Salford Quays for our location and met to shoot there on a freezing morning when the temperature didn’t exceed 1 Deg C! Damien booked a shoot to add more variety to his fitness portfolio. We shot a variety of themes, from standard fitness portraits to low-key atmosphere images. As part of a Fuji workshop working with Matthew Maddock, I was able to shoot with Manchester -based Zoe with my new Fuji X 1 Pro and a selection of Fuji lenses. The shoot took place in the Royal Exchange Theatre and in some outdoor locations around Manchester city centre.
