Andy is an agency represented classic model who contacted us to arrange a shoot to expand his range of images for social media and portfolio use. We covered some bright and energeitc studio fashion themes as well as classic portraits and headshots.
Ginaluca is a talented model who wanted to expand his portfolio with some specifically themed images. We started the shoot with a ‘Homage’ to Jean Paul Gaultier’s ‘Le Male’ campaign, continuing onto some fitness and boxing-themes shots and finishing the shoot with some classic black and white formal wear
Victor is an experienced model and it shows by the way he poses and connects with the camera. Our shoot included dramatic and characterful portraits, physique shots with tyres, art nude images with the ceremonial sword as well as classically inspired poses with the greek pillar and busts.
Kianis returned for another shoot but this time to re-create an authentic 30s P G Woodhouse character complete with tails coat top hat monocle and many other props that we have available at our studio. We spent a lot of time perfecting Kianis’s hair and adjusting small costume details to produce a really atmospheric set of images
Leon has become a regular collaborator and for our latest shoot we chose 2 very contrasting ideas – Assassins Creed cosplay homage and classical art nude boudoir. Leon excelled in both genres using his skills as an-up-and- coming actor, with the aid of some of the many props in the studio and the shoot resulted in a set of arresting images.
After Kianis’s first shoot , we very promptly arranged a follow-up session to pursue themes that we did not have time to cover during our initial meeting. The first theme was a ‘
30s working class/peaky blinders costume combination, we then changed to a more outlandish steam punk alt fashion outfit and finished the shoot with some colourful male fusion images.
Actor, Costumier, Fight director and male model Ciaron @ciarondavies booked another shoot to showcase his latest outfits which he uses and hires out in his professional acting career. We shot a diverse selection of images featuring the two outfits Ciaron provided which resulted in some dramatic imagery.
‘The Bard’, Ciaran Davis, is an actor, costumier, armourer and stuntman. Every so often he visits the studio with an authentic historical costume. Our latest shoot was no exception. Ciaran supplied a fully authentic French late 18th century Musketeers costume complete with antique Spanish sword and also a Napoleonic soldier’s costume. I set up a couple of small stage sets comprising of various props to compliment the period of the outfits. Ciaran skilfully employed his acting skills to characterise each scenario.
A first for JBDI-photos but a very creative shoot. Jesse and Darren booked a shoot to show off their full body latex wear. The dynamic between the two models was immediately apparent and I tried to capture the surreal and humorous side to their interaction.
Actor Phill, who was visiting from London, got in touch to arrange a shoot to take advantage of the many props available in our studio near Manchester Airport. Luckily, I had just added some new classic Greek antique props which we were able to utilise for the first time. Keen to show off his great physique, Phill posed nude for most of the images. This is the first shoot in a series of classic or renaissance inspired collaborations that I planning, in which I’m hoping to feature contemporary models interacting with antique props.
Ciaron (The Bard) is an actor, costumier and theatrical armourer. Periodically we arrange a shoot to showcase a new costume. For this shoot Cairon brought a Celtic warrior outfit complete with leather jerkin, cloak, leather arm bands and a very stylish long sword. I experimented with various dramatic lighting styles to maximise the visual impact of Ciaron’s amazing costum.e
Brad booked a shoot to add new studio images to his port, and was especially interested in the styles that we offer at JBDI-photography – alt fashion, cosplay and steam punk. We captured a great variety of amazing images during the shoot utilising many of the in-house props that are ready and waiting for clients to enhance the experience of their photoshoot – swords, retro camera. skateboards, steam punk accessories and min stage sets.
Robert paid a visit to the studio to add more acting and character shots to his port. We started with a Peaky Blinders 30s theme and also covered some shots with the in-house studio leather jacket as well as some physique and fitness photos. Euan is an upcoming model and Instagrammer (@euanthum) who got in touch to arrange a studio shoot, which he hadn’t experienced before, his previous experience being outdoor and travel shoots for his Instagram account. We covered black and white portraits with leather jackets using
some of the extensive wardrobe of costumes in our studio, formalwear shots, some arty fantasy shots with candelabra and decanter and ended with some spiky steam punk images!
Emil is a young model hoping to break into the modelling industry. We made a plan to cover areas that would expand his portfolio and show off his look at its best, using a combination of studio props and costumes to produce an eclectic mix of shots.
Dexter got in contact to arrange an underwear, fitness and physique shoot to boost his male modelling portfolio. We covered a range of themes from portrait through topless and underwear to some more revealing physique shots to give him a great choice of images to use for his online and agency portfolios.
Lauren booked a shoot to spice her port up with some alt fashion, gothic and glamour shots. We created some fantasy gothic images using a mini stage set that I constructed in the studio and moved on to some retro glamour shots. Lauren supplied some great costumes and we ended up with some amazing images.
Many more employees and business people are now working form home but they still require striking and effective headshots and portraits. JBDI-photography can supply great looking headshots and commercial portraits. Actor and model Harley got in touch to update his port with some portraits, headshots and costume shots using the props and outfits we have in our studio. We started with some gritty black and white portraits and then progressed onto a Dickensian/cosplay theme with top hat and tuxedo and ended the shoot with a sports and casual theme.
Ciaron booked another shoot to follow on from our previous ‘Johnny Depp’ and Medieval Knight themes. This time we chose the location of Burrs park in Bury as Sherwood Forest. Ciaron provided a full costume including bow, arrows, long sword, hooded jerkin and breaches and after a short walk beside the river Irwell, we found a wooded bank with many ancient oaks to provide an atmospheric backdrop, giving the resulting images an appropriate mythic feel.
New and talented model Matthew needed some studio images for his portfolio. Our shoot covered headshots, portraits, some topless and underwear shots and a White Russian hat….
Darren is a very dedicated and versatile model and actor who I have worked with on a number of occasions. He owns an extensive personal wardrobe as well as a huge variety of props that he can supply to give extra authenticity and excitement to any shoot. We booked a morning at Antwerp mansions, a dedicated run-down and urban photography space in Rusholme, Manchester. Using the grungy and dilapidated interior, we worked on several scenarios to produce some surreal, steampunk, alternative and sci-fi shots.

Tyler is a young model with an innocent but alternative look, sporting an array of tattoos, who wanted to experiment with some retro and cosplay images with the help of thew many props and costumes available to us at the studio. We shot a series of images covering many styles and looks to give him an extensive set of shots to choose from.
After arranging a shoot with male model, Leon, he was very keen to try out a boxing theme. Luckily, we have a punchbag, boxing gloves and retro boxing shorts on hand art the studio, so all we needed was Leon to provide the action and drama. We experimented with some atmospheric back lighting, smoke, water spray and stage blood to create some gritty and powerful shots.
Kes’s second shoot took full advantage of all the props, furniture, costumes and make-up we have to offer. We started off with boudoir style images with the chaise long and chiffon, then experimented with a ‘gold’ theme with glitter and our newly acquired gilt frame and finished off with semi-formal all-white fashion shots.
A model of great ability and experience, Helen Diaz visited the studio to shoot a scenario dedicated to ‘Ariadne’ the wife of ‘Dionysus’. We constructed a special set to evoke the classical mythology and to pay homage to classical and renaissance art. Just for a touch of variety we finished the shoot with some ‘Film Noir’ shots!
Model and actor extraordinaire ‘The Bard’ visited the studio for a ‘ Johnny Depp’ themed shoot. he bought his own pirate costume and we combined his acting and characterisation skills with the many props available at the studio to create some inspired theatrical images with a real feel for the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films
Princess Bee booked a shoot to take advantage of some of the amazing props we have at the studio. We shot some weird and whacky steam punk themed images and rounded the shoot off with a few 70s inspired shots
Jiri arranged a shoot to boost his port – we covered several different looks from formal fashion through retro beachwear to American football to give him some more striking images to enhance his modelling career.
Tom visited the studio to create new costume images and enlarge his portfolio by taking advantage of the amazing variety of costumes and props available in our studio near Manchester Airport. We used a ceremonial sword and the peaky blinders outfit that is available to all models booking shoots with us.
After our Peaky Blinders style shoot over a year ago, Matthew contacted me again to arrange a portfolio booster for his male model portfolio. We covered a number of creative scenarios from 60s James Dean shots with leather jacket, 60s retro selfies with Milford Sportsman camers, through a cabaret costume with topcoat and stick to a ‘JR’ cowboy theme!
Darren contacted me to arrange a shoot to add some more dramatic images to his portfolio. We set up a ‘steam punk’ style stage set in the studio and Darren wore some outfits from his extensive leatherwear wardrobe. We ended the shoot with some moody portrait shots.
Male model Callum booked a shoot to broaden his port with some character portraits and costume shots working with many of the props and costumes available in our well-equipped studio.
Experienced male model James arranged a shoot to refresh his already extensive port with some character, costume and contemporary shots. Our shoot encompassed traditional portraiture to punk.
An experienced male model and regular guest at JBDI, Jon visited the studio to shoot two costume/cosplay themes, the first a Bacchus homage and the second a Peaky Blinders set. Both sets gave Jon ample opportunity to show off his great physique! He was fully committed to both of our themes and we able to capture some great images combining the full potential of our studio lighting and coloured gels with the many props and costumes that are available to any model booking a shoot with us.
Young, recently graduated actor and male model, Dale Brendan, visited the studio to update his actor headshots and also expand his male modelling portfolio images. We shot some classic headshots and also played around with some more varied fashion styles to give him a wider variety of shots for his portfolio.
Sam contacted us to arrange a shoot to showcase his physique and tattoos. This was an easy task as he was a great model very willing to pose to maximise his potential.
